I dont know why people say this product is bad. This product is really great. I got it yesterday and hooked it up to my 24 inch windows vista lcd screen. The instructions are easy to follow and you should do it in no time. I played my ps2 on it and it is great. It works fine and you can adjust the brightness and screen to your game experience. I would use a s video ps2 cable though, but the composite video cable is still good. People probably misjudged this item because their computer could’nt handle the game jockey. Your computer should be windows and have all the vga slots nessessary. The graphics depend on your computer and if your computer has a graphic card, it should work great. This item is the best vga converter and it is truly a video game jockey. You can get it for a very good bargain at amazon. GREAT ITEM

I never received this item. Amazon shipped it on time as usual but it was mis-delivered from my post office, never to be seen again. I’m saving up money to order another one, and maybe pay extra to have UPS bring it. Super saver shipping was a little too much like a Secret Santa in this instance.

“Comp 2 VGA” is a way to display component (the single yellow RCA-jack input)to the 15 pin “D-sub” VGA input on your monitor. This is in case you don’t have a “component in” available on your monitor, but you do have an extra VGA. Component video is the worst – and this thing takes it and converts it, so the picture’s going to be even worse than if you could plug right into a component input… but you don’t have a component-in available, or you wouldn’t be looking for this thing.
Just to make things more interesting, there is a VGA to DVI adaptor made that costs just a few more dollars (5 or so) in case you only have a DVI input available and you want to display your device’s component video on your DVI monitor. I have an old computer that plugs into a new monitor’s second DVI input that way (the first DVI input has a modern computer on it.) So I’m pretty sure you could use this thing with the VGA-into-DVI adaptor to show component video on a monitor’s available DVI-in port.

I recvd the item today the best part of this review is that i recvd the item very fast( Quick Shipment) but the item itself practically is useless and image and sound quality are very poor, if u are a serious gamer, as i am, then spend the extra 60.00 and get a quality vga converter for 100.00 or more!!! This item will be returned to Amazon and Startech, Amazon should know better than to sell this low class item, what a waste of time and money, No wonder Ebay is beating them out!!NO THUMBS UP for this review. Stick to your conventional tv for gaming connections!!
