Transformers: War for Cybertron

Now I know an Autobot reading this will immediately pin the blame on me, but I am not responsible for the current states he’s in, nor is any member of my family. But when the perpetrator comes fourth, I’ll be the first person in line to personally shake that person’s hand. Honestly, the world of Cybertron, the Autobots, the entire universe is a much better place due to the demise of Optimus Prime.
I’m glad Optimus Prime is gone.
The War for Cybertron is the standard boring action game :
-Character designs suck
-Cybertron is a boring setting
-Online Multi’ is broken
-3rd Person camera sucks
-Boring single-player story (could’ve used better writers, like from the films)
If you want to play a GOOD Transformers try “Transformers” on the PS2. Or even the film adaptations — the films are the best thing to ever happen to the Transformers series, ever. This game isn’t worthy of being published by the great Activision (publishers of the greatest game series ever, Call of Duty), nor is it worthy of using the name “Transformers”. (a franchise created by Michael Bay)

While the game itself is thoroughly enjoyable and everything I expected, the code I was given by Amazon with my purchase was invalid. I purchased this game from this website specifically for that code, so I could play as Demolisher. I cannot play as this character, because I was given a dodgey unlock code. Amazon’s lack of availability for me to remedy this situation only frustrated me further, as I could have purchased this product for less at another retailer and gotten the same thing, I would only have missed out on a broken code.
In short, I highly reccomend the game. Purchase it from elsewhere however, as the Amazon exclusive Demolisher code may or may not work.

This could have been an amazing game, not being made as a movie runoff, but the developers decided to copy off of numerous games (halo series, cod, cod zombies, etc), and implement different aspects into their ‘game’. I don’t really mind this, but it would have been nice for the developers to have some originality.
My personal biggest problem is the combat, once again. I thought that all robots on Cybertron were supposed to be one of a kind? And shouldn’t an energon powered robot be able to have unlimited ammunition, aside from missles? Instead of just blowing up, wouldn’t it be much more realistic if the enemies would lose parts according to where you shot them? AND WHERE IS THE MELEE? YOU ONLY GET ONE MELEE MOVE?!?!? IM STILL WAITING ON A TRANSFORMERS GAME THAT IMPLEMENTS A STRONG MELEE SYSTEM.

I am big fan of the 80′s Transformers cartoon show. When I saw clips of how the game looked I was really excited this would be the game to do justice to the transformers universe, I was wrong the about that. The best thing about this game are the graphics 9 out of 10. The control is okay but could be improved 7 out of 10. The worst part of this game are the guns/cannons. This is first shooter/action game I ever played where I am running out of ammo all the time. If you shoot at two transformers guess what YOU’RE OUT OF AMMO. Then trying to if more ammo is like finding a needle in a hay stack. You can tell the programmers of this game were trying to cash in on this property and not produce a good game. This game is a RENTAL not a buy. If you want a great shooter game to play then try Sin & Punishment for the Wii. This game makes me very sad.

This game isn’t incredible, by any means, but it has a lot to offer Transformers fans like myself. The graphics are excellent, if a little chunky. The gameplay is fun, if a little repetitive. At the moment, it’s still the best Transformers game ever made, so let’s hope that we get an Earth bound sequel from the same developers. I’d recommend buying this game.
